Preparing for IMO 2020
Changes to Sulphur emissions provides the biggest change to the bunker industry in decades. New grades provide challenges in viscosity, compatibility (and blending), competition for availability, and, last but not least, price.
Every vessel contracted to TFS will have a specific bunkering plan, where its bunkering and consumption history is taken into account: when to start buying 2020 compliant bunkers; and running down HFO prior to the end of 2019.
TFS will continue to work with trusted suppliers with good quality supply chains. We expect to secure volumes in advance at market related pricing and will work with our suppliers on multi-port contracts where we recognize their strong regional and global capabilities.
Nothing is left to chance; TFS aims to optimize the changeover to IMO 2020
